Motorola Cliq

The Motorola Cliq is one of the most networking-focused smartphones out to date. The Cliq does have a 5 megapixel camera and a full QWERTY keyboard, but the difference from other smartphones is its MotoBlur user interface; it’s a customized build of the infamous Android operating system that uses Android’s extensive concentration on interactivity to the internet for expansive networking capabilities.  MotoBlur brings updates, E-mails, messages, personal information, media, contacts and more from all your online networking locations to a cleverly streamlined interactive output to the user. This information is used for all of the aspects of the phone, including phone calls, location, photos and more. The Cliq brings all this information to life in one device, even if you are doing something fundamentally complicated as talking to Joe, accessing a Facebook message containing the address of a restaurant, finding the fastest route to it from Joe’s current location AND yours, and knowing how long it will take him to get there, and whether or not you should bring a coat.

G1

The long awaited open source Android Operating System from Google presently only exists on the G1 with the T-Mobile network. There has been a lot of excitement behind this OS, and many believe it has the potential to change the way we all interact with our cell phones.

Manufactured by HTC, the handset itself is not that exciting. The unique thing about this phone is the fact that it is the first to run the Android OS. This phone will be most appealing to users who are interested in exploring the features of the Android OS and what it has to offer. Some of the hiccups or shortcomings of the G1 might turn some people away, but the G1 has great potential to become a powerful mobile mini-computer.

The thing about the G1 is what it stands for; open source. The Android Operating System has huge potential to change the way we interact with our mobile devices. The HTC G1 is the first of many handsets and OS updates. We can expect future versions of this handset to blow us away.

Sony Ericsson TM506

The Sony Ericsson TM506 design instills a stylish impression with a jet black outer theme contrasted by vibrant solid metallic green, red, or chrome.  For a flip phone with a keyboard and screen of its size, the TM506 has a reticent frame and weight.  When flipped open, the LCD draws the eye with its size, but flat and lightly-profiled buttons laid behind a grained metal-imitative panel are easy and responsive to press.  The LCD is brilliant and clear, having wonderful color and QVGA resolution.  The camera is quicker than average and compliments the big screen at 2.0 megapixels.  It takes clear and undistorted pictures that can be sent through MMS or can be uploaded online to share with your friends and loved ones.  3G support is fully appreciated with downloadable games and ringtones, a web browser, instant messaging and e-mail.  Its music player supports many formats such as mp3, m4a, wave and more.  Stereo Bluetooth support can be used for simple and untangled music and phoning.  The TM506 is a pronounced sample of Sony Ericsson’s model lineup.
