BlackBerry Bold (9700)
This version of the Bold line is the premier and most capable of all RIM's lineup for the BlackBerry's. Bold carries all of the advantages of the original Bold 9000, improves upon them and adds more! Moreso than the already ultimately business-oriented streamline of the BlackBerry OS, the way that the 9700 Bold cater's to the professional in the field or in the office is unlike any other smartphone out there. The options available to the user are extensive, as it is necessary when on the job. File management, along with spreadsheet/powerpoint/text document viewing, is simple. Managing connections is a breeze with wireless networks, WLAN and Bluetooth devices, as with all BlackBerry's. Excellent messaging/Emailing is a necessity when communicating in the business world, as it is with the Bold 9700. Powerhouse Email management and threaded messaging simplifies it all. As if application wasn't beauty, RIM's design of the 9700 is luxurious and eye-catching. Leatherette backing doesn't just make it comfortable to hold, although it does compliment in the already very comfortable size and shape of the phone. The full QWERTY keyboard is large enough for easy and lengthy texting or Email conversations, but did not obstruct the very sleek and simple face, largely dominated by the posh and bright LCD. The center navigation trackball is replaced by an optical pad, that accurately and comfortably retains the feel of the ball. Not only is it easy to use, but it stays flush with the face surface, and cannot succumb to issues the trackball often had. The Bold remains the ultimate professional tool.
