Smart Phones Provide Guidance to Greener Living

Looking for help on how to go green? There’s an app for that: AUG is an app that helps consumers purchase locally grown or produced goods when shopping. AUG, or Augmented Living Goods, centers around a barcode directory for items like produce and dairy. Shoppers can scan barcodes of various items and find out information such as where an item was grown or made, pricing data, and other information.

Similarly, the GoodGuide app provides detailed ratings for health, environment, and social responsibility for more than 50,000 products and companies
